Gonzaga as a relaively small school has produced some excellent individual players.
Barry Bresnihan
Barry is probably Gonzaga’s most disinguished internaional. He was capped twenty-ive imes
as a centre for Ireland between 1966 and 1971. He scored six tries for his country.
Barry was also selected for two Briish and Irish Lions tours. He was called up as a replacement
for the 1966 Briish Lions tour to Australia and New Zealand. He was also selected for the 1968
Briish Lions tour to South Africa and played in three of the tests.
Tony Ensor
Tony made his internaional debut as a fullback on March 10th 1973 against Wales. He was
capped 22 imes for Ireland, winning his last cap against England on March 18th 1978. Tony was
a goal kicker and scored a total of 31 points for Ireland including a try v France in 1975. In 1976
he was a member of the Ireland squad that toured New Zealand and Fiji.
The Feighery Brothers
Con won three caps as a lock forward for Ireland in 1972. He never played on a losing Irish side.
Tom won two caps for Ireland as a prop forward in 1977.
Vinny Becker
Vinny was capped twice on the wing for Ireland in 1974.
Paddy Kenny
Paddy toured New Zealand with Ireland and played in the test match v New Zealand in Wellington
on June 6, 1992.
