The exhibiion also represented the coninuing tradiion of set design and construcion in
this school. Photographs of the sets of eight plays were on display. Vincent Flood has beauifully
photographed the play sets for many years. Bernard Kavanagh’s stage lighing has enhanced a
great number of our producions. His touch is as sensiive to the sets and mood of the plays as
it is to the actors. Without even menioning the dramas themselves, the scale and quality of
some of these sets could never be achieved without the guaranteed yearly resource of great
skill and commited manpower from Sixth Year. Being involved in the seing of so many plays
with Michael Bevan, Brian Regan and Caroline Staunton has been richly rewarding for the stage
managers and crews involved and for me.
The arists represented in the jubilee exhibiion shared something in common. That
something drew them to the subject of art in the irst place; it made them enjoy and look
