GONZAGA AT SIXTY: A WORK IN PROGRESS
Padraic Halpin is Reuters’
Irish correspondant
Today, I am just a few weeks away from staging a Wall Street dark comedy called KILL THE
BID!, a play which I have been developing over the year through cold readings in the city. It is the
irst of four separate producions that I will helm over the coming nine months. By April 2011,
I will have writen, directed, produced and acted in all of them. Hopefully, a few thousand will
have sat down in the dark and been transported somewhere else for a few hours. There will have
been a spirit of Gonzaga at work. Some probing quesions will have been posed. Some will have
played devil’s advocate. Some will be beter within than without, some quite the reverse. More
life will have been lived. More hopes will have been hoped. And, out of the silence, there will
have been the sound of laughter...

Brendan added that he is also direcing, producing and acing in the cast of seven of his play ‘KILL THE BID!
